Gender Reveal Party

So this post falls under the "post-wedding life" category! My husband and I have been married for a year and a half and couldn't be more excited to be welcoming our first child this June! We've been together for seven years this year and although we cherish every day together, it seems each year is better than the next. With all the excitement around planning for our baby we decided to throw a Gender Reveal Party for our family. This type of party is becoming increasingly more popular and if you are considering having one - DO IT! We had SO much fun!

Our ultrasound technician told us she knew what we were having right away. We asked her to seal the baby's gender in an envelope so we could be surprised. I created a reveal box that would be sealed with pink or blue balloons. The day of our big reveal, my dad and sister took the box, packing tape & the sealed envelope to the party store and asked the manager to open the envelope once they stepped outside and if the card read "Boy" then fill the box with blue balloons and if the card read "Girl" fill the box with pink balloons. The manager was awesome - sealed the box, re-sealed the envelope and my dad and sister were off carrying home one of the biggest surprises of our lives!

It was so special to open the reveal box in front of our family and for everyone, including us, to share in this wonderful surprise together. We couldn't be happier to announce that we are expecting a BABY BOY!! I'm the oldest of three girls and come from an extended family of mostly girls so we are all over the moon to have a little prince in our family now!

It's a BOY!
